Andrew Bartlett Abstract The Planet Earth as Scene, not Scapegoat: Reflections on Mimetic Theory and Film Images of Nuclear Bombs Exploding Appearance Andrew Bartlett grew up in eastern Canada and studied English literature at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton), Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia), and York University (Ph.D. 1994) in Toronto. He has been reading and studying mimetic theory since 1983, has been involved in COV&R since 1995, and currently participates in a reading group studying the work of Eric Gans. He has published reviews on Canadian novels and scholarly essays on Cormac McCarthy and Joseph Conrad. He has taught English at the University of New Brunswick, York University, the University of British Columbia, and Simon Fraser University. Since 1998, he has been member of the English Department at Kwantlen University College in Surrey, British Columia, just outside Vancouver. He is glad to be attending his fourth COV&R conference this year. |
